What is mentorship?
Mentorship is a personal developmental relationship in which a more experienced or more knowledgeable person helps to guide a less experienced or less knowledgeable person. However, true mentoring is more than just answering occasional questions or providing ad hoc help. It is about an ongoing relationship of learning, dialogue, and challenge. The person in receipt of mentorship may be referred to as a protégé (male), a protégée (female), an apprentice or, in recent years, a mentee. (Wikipedia, 2014)
Scholarship Leadership Institute
Here at the Scholarship Leadership Institute (SLI), we help ALL teens go after their dreams and goals of getting into and paying for college.
We do this through multiple information streams. Our new website is an amazing site for you or your teen to plug into and get information to find funding for the education you want.
“Nippy TV”, the Nippy Betz LLC YouTube channel, is a second vehicle that can help you achieve your goal! It provides viewers an “all access pass” to information that will inspire teens to reach their educational goals and dreams. Our goal is to be America’s Scholarship Coach to thousands of teens all over the country.
We make products, videos, and other items available FOR FREE to help teens enhance their chances to get into and pay for college. Register at our website for more information about this exciting program. Clients of SLI have access to our proprietary Education Portal.
For 100 highly motivated teens who really want to accelerate their quest for scholarships, we’ll provide them an opportunity to enroll into the SLI.
Here, Major Betz will serve as a personal mentor to 100 protégés/protégées in a rolling admissions program, where they will be held accountable and associate with like-minded scholarship hunters. Major Betz is looking to fill his educational charter boat with focused teens!
Charter Boat Captain
The best way to describe how we’ll change the lives of 100 teens every year is by using an analogy of a charter boat captain.
When people fish at Canyon Lake here in San Antonio, they sit on the banks and hardly ever catch fish. When they do, the fish are often small and not worth keeping. Once in a while, they may land a big one.
When Major Betz goes fishing, he always uses Captain Steve, who is a local charter boat captain. He knows exactly where to go, when to go, and what bait to use in order to better their chances of catching big fish. And he always catch the big fish!
Like Major Betz, Captain Steve is an expert (aka mentor) in his field and has a history of being able to better the chances of fishermen (aka protégés) to catch a number of prize fish (aka scholarships)!
Many people say, “You can’t catch fish at Canyon Lake.” Yet Major Betz always does.
Captain Steve even tells people on the banks where to go to increase their chances of catching big fish. It won’t be as plentiful, though, as it is for those who go with him on the boat.
Look at Nippy Betz LLC, through the SLI, as the charter boat captain for teens when it comes to finding meaningful scholarships. He helps them get an education while reducing their likelihood of incurring debt that seems to hurt so many college graduates.
We use a series of seminars, books, mp3s and videos, the Internet, slideshows, webinars, and so much more! We also help those along the banks – those who register for our SLI eZine and free eBook. Some of them will get really good scholarship packages.
But for those who join the SLI in August (and later, via a rolling admission), we are going to take you to the deeper waters where we know there are meaningful scholarships. We’ll have curriculum, tips, and procedures to enhance your chances of getting into college, paying for it, and preparing for life after high school!
